Enterprise Golf Cart Rental Policy & Terms

Rental Requirements, Vehicle Safety, Reservations, Payments and Customer Responsibilities

Golf carts are a popular way to explore San Pedro and Ambergris Caye, offering convenient, open-air transportation between accommodations, restaurants, beaches, and other island destinations.

However, golf carts are motorized vehicles, and their open-air design offers less protection than an enclosed car. Road conditions, weather, traffic, and responsible driving all play an important role in keeping passengers and other road users safe.

At Enterprise Golf Cart Rentals, we take vehicle safety, regular maintenance, and customer service seriously. Our golf carts are inspected and maintained, and we provide roadside assistance should a mechanical problem occur during your rental.

We also believe a good rental experience begins with clear expectations. Before payment, customers receive confirmation of availability and a complete rental quotation, including applicable taxes and insurance charges.

This Rental Policy explains our booking procedures, driver requirements, vehicle use, fuel conditions, roadside support, cancellations, returns, and customer responsibilities.

Please read these terms carefully before making payment. Completing payment confirms your acceptance of Enterprise Golf Cart Rentals’ Rental Policy and Terms and Conditions.

2. Reservations and Booking Confirmation

Enterprise personally reviews reservation requests before confirming availability.

How Reservations Work

  1. Submit your request. Provide your rental dates, preferred golf cart size, number of carts and delivery information through our reservation form.

  2. Availability and price review. Our team checks availability and prepares your complete rental quotation.

  3. Review your quotation. You’ll receive the rental price, applicable taxes and insurance charges, along with the proposed rental arrangements.

  4. Complete payment. Payment instructions are provided with your quotation or after you agree to proceed.

  5. Receive confirmation. Once the required payment is completed and the reservation is confirmed, Enterprise coordinates your delivery arrangements.

Submitting an online request does not automatically secure a golf cart.

Reservations are subject to vehicle availability and completion of the required booking process.

3. Rental Rates, Taxes and Insurance

Rental rates are published in US dollars and vary according to golf cart size and rental duration.

Enterprise offers daily, multi-day, weekly and monthly rental options.

What’s Included in the Advertised Rental Rate?

Your published golf cart rental rate includes:

  • The reserved 4-seater or 6-seater golf cart

  • Unlimited bridge passes during your rental

  • Complimentary delivery and pickup within our covered service area

  • Standard vehicle maintenance support

  • 24/7 roadside assistance for mechanical issues

Additional Charges

Belize General Sales Tax (GST) of 12.5% and applicable insurance charges are additional to the advertised rental rates.

The complete rental price, including these charges, will be provided before payment.

Additional charges may also arise from services or circumstances not covered by the regular rental price, including emergency fuel delivery, customer-caused damage or other responsibilities under the signed rental agreement.

Please review your quotation and rental documentation before completing payment.

4. Payment Requirements

The full rental amount must be paid online on the day of booking to confirm and secure the reservation.

Enterprise provides payment instructions after confirming availability and preparing your rental quotation.

Customers should review their rental dates, golf cart type, total price and delivery arrangements before making payment.

A reservation request without the required payment is not a secured booking.

5. Driver Age and License Requirements

All golf cart drivers must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license.

Drivers must carry their licenses while operating the golf cart.

A golf cart must not be operated by an unlicensed person or anyone who does not meet the minimum age requirement.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that anyone operating the rental vehicle meets the applicable requirements and follows Belize traffic laws.

6. Complimentary Golf Cart Delivery and Pickup

Enterprise provides complimentary delivery and collection at road-accessible locations within its designated service area.

Covered locations include:

  • San Pedro Airport

  • San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi terminal

  • Caribbean Sprinter Water Taxi terminal

  • Hotels, resorts, condominiums and vacation rentals within the service area

  • Accessible northern locations as far as Sapphire Beach Resort

Delivery arrangements must be confirmed in advance.

When submitting your reservation, provide your accommodation name, arrival transportation details and preferred delivery time.

Properties with restricted or boat-only access may require separate arrangements.

Delayed Flights or Water Taxis

If your flight or water taxi is delayed, please notify Enterprise as soon as possible with your updated arrival information.

We will coordinate the revised delivery arrangements without an additional charge for the arrival delay.

Late arrivals and changes to meeting arrangements should be communicated directly to our team.

7. Golf Cart Delivery and Vehicle Handover

At the agreed delivery location, an Enterprise representative will meet the customer and complete the required rental paperwork.

Golf carts are delivered with a full tank of gasoline.

Before starting your rental, we encourage you to:

  • Check the golf cart’s general condition

  • Review any visible existing damage

  • Confirm the fuel level

  • Familiarize yourself with the controls

  • Ask questions about driving, parking and safe operation

Customers are welcome to take photographs of the vehicle at handover for their own records.

Please report any concerns about the condition or operation of the golf cart before driving away.

Enterprise takes vehicle maintenance seriously. Our golf carts are inspected and maintained to support safe and reliable operation. At delivery, customers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the vehicle, review its condition, and report any concerns before driving.

8. Fuel Policy

Enterprise provides every rental golf cart with a full tank of gasoline.

Customers must return the vehicle with a full tank.

What Happens If You Run Out of Gasoline?

If you run out of gasoline during your rental, contact Enterprise and provide your location.

Our team can arrange delivery of gasoline.

Additional charges apply for the fuel and delivery service.

For longer journeys, particularly toward Secret Beach and northern Ambergris Caye, customers should check their fuel level before departing.

Do not leave a golf cart obstructing traffic if it becomes inoperable.

9. Roadside Assistance and Mechanical Problems

Enterprise provides 24/7 roadside assistance for rental customers.

If your golf cart develops a mechanical problem, stop in a safe location and contact our team.

How Enterprise Handles Breakdowns

Enterprise first assesses the reported problem.

If the issue can be repaired on location, our team will bring the necessary supplies and arrange the repair.

If the golf cart cannot be repaired within a reasonable time, Enterprise will arrange a replacement cart.

Customers should not attempt unauthorized mechanical repairs or continue driving a cart that appears unsafe.

For roadside assistance:

Call or WhatsApp: +501 615-9995

Roadside assistance for mechanical problems does not mean that all customer-caused incidents or additional services are free.

10. Accidents, Damage and Customer Responsibilities

Golf carts are vehicles and must be operated responsibly.

Customers are responsible for following local traffic regulations, operating the cart safely, and complying with the rental agreement.

In the Event of an Accident

Major accidents: Contact the police first, particularly when injuries, serious damage or dangerous road conditions are involved. Notify Enterprise as soon as it is safe to do so.

Minor incidents: Contact Enterprise promptly to report the situation and receive instructions.

If anyone is injured or requires emergency assistance, prioritize their safety and contact the appropriate emergency services.

Do not continue operating a damaged golf cart if its safety is uncertain.

Vehicle Damage

Customers should report any damage occurring during the rental period.

Responsibilities for damage, applicable insurance coverage and related charges are governed by the rental agreement and applicable terms.

Do not arrange repairs or replacement parts without Enterprise’s authorization.

11. Responsible Driving and Passenger Limits

For the safety of passengers, pedestrians and other road users, customers must comply with Belize traffic regulations and the following rental requirements.

Passenger Capacity

  • 4-seater golf carts: Maximum four passengers

  • 6-seater golf carts: Maximum six passengers

Children count toward the vehicle’s passenger capacity.

Passengers must ride in designated seats. Do not allow anyone to stand on the cart or ride in an unsafe position.

Alcohol and Intoxicating Substances

Driving under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating substances is prohibited.

Customers who plan to drink should arrange suitable alternative transportation.

Road Conditions

Drive carefully on uneven roads, unpaved surfaces and routes affected by rainfall.

Avoid deep standing water, flooded roads, beach sand and other areas unsuitable for golf cart operation.

Follow posted signs, speed limits, traffic instructions and any vehicle-use restrictions explained during handover.

Golf carts are open-air motorized vehicles and do not provide the same protection as enclosed passenger vehicles. Drivers and passengers are exposed to weather, road conditions, and surrounding traffic. For everyone’s safety, drivers must operate the cart responsibly, respect passenger limits, and adjust their driving to current road and weather conditions.

12. Driving and Parking Rules in San Pedro

San Pedro has one-way streets, designated parking areas and local traffic restrictions.

Drivers are responsible for following current road signs and lawful instructions from traffic officers.

General Parking Requirements

  • Do not park within 30 feet of street corners.

  • Do not park along red-marked no-parking curbs.

  • Do not obstruct driveways, building entrances or pedestrian access.

  • Do not park in taxi-designated parking spaces.

  • Follow current street signs and restrictions, especially around Central Park.

Downtown Streets

The established traffic patterns include:

Barrier Reef Drive (Front Street): Generally one-way northbound.

Pescador Drive (Middle Street): Generally one-way southbound.

Angel Coral Street (Back Street): Carries two-way traffic.

Local parking arrangements, temporary closures and traffic directions may change. Always follow the current signs rather than relying exclusively on a route description.

Central Park

The downtown Central Park area may have scheduled or temporary vehicle restrictions.

Check current signs and local instructions before entering or parking in the area.

Traffic violations and fines are the responsibility of the person operating the golf cart, as determined by applicable law and the rental agreement.

13. Rental Extensions

Customers who wish to keep their golf cart beyond the agreed return time should contact Enterprise before the rental expires.

Extensions are subject to availability and confirmation of additional rental charges.

A rental extension is not automatic.

Customers must receive approval before retaining a cart beyond the agreed rental period.

14. Early Returns and Unused Rental Time

Customers may arrange to return their golf cart before the scheduled end of the rental.

However, no refund is provided for unused rental time.

If you need to return your cart early, contact Enterprise to coordinate collection.

15. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Customers who need to cancel a confirmed reservation should notify Enterprise as soon as possible.

The following cancellation terms apply:

Cancellation Before Arrival Day

A cancellation made before the scheduled arrival day is eligible for a 50% refund of the rental payment.

Cancellation on Arrival Day

No refund is provided for cancellations made on the scheduled arrival day.

Early Departure After Rental Begins

No refund is provided for unused rental time if the customer returns the golf cart before the scheduled end of the rental.

Customers should review these conditions before making payment.

16. Returning Your Golf Cart

At the end of the rental period, customers must make the golf cart available for collection at the agreed location and time.

Before returning your cart:

  • Refill the gasoline tank to the required full level

  • Remove personal belongings

  • Check for items left under seats or in storage areas

  • Report any mechanical issues or damage encountered during the rental

  • Confirm collection arrangements if your plans have changed

If you need additional rental time, request an extension in advance.
